One of the joys of living in the San Francisco East Bay is the preponderance of outdoor activities and festivals that abound in Contra Costa County. It’s a chance for all of us, whether you’re a firefighter in Orinda, an accountant in Benicia, or a real estate agent buying and selling houses in Walnut Creek, to truly enjoy the breathtaking outdoors that surrounds our lifestyle.
Combine the fun of an outdoor festival with wine and art and wow: talk about perfection! That’s what we have coming up with the 2012 Lafayette Art and Wine Festival scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, September 15 and 16, 2012.
Now in its’ 17th year, the festival is expected to draw over 100,000 people who’ll stroll about, sipping wine and enjoying food, music and a huge amount of breathtaking art from some of the areas’ most skilled artisans.
Admission to the event is free with drink tickets priced at $7 for individual tickets. An individual wine or beer glass is $6, and combination packages are available.
The event also features a Kids Zone with activity ticket prices ranging from $1 to $5.
You’ll find more than 250 fine arts and crafts booths, restaurants, food vendors, wineries and microbreweries, continuous musical entertainment presented on three stages, and a special exhibit and sale of work by local artists, located in Artist Alley, in La Fiesta Square.
Festivals like this add so much to the culture and atmosphere of Contra Costa County and are one of the reasons why I love helping people buy and sell homes in the San Francisco East Bay; this is a great place to live!
Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash and in control at all times.
