January and February Events in Rossmoor

Now that the New Year has come and gone, now is the time to get out and get active. Even if you are not as mobile as you used to be, there are many types of events in Rossmoor for all activity levels. Here are just a few of the events coming up this month:

ARF Adoptions

Did you know that having a pet can help you lead a longer, healthier, and happier life? The Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) will be in Rossmoor with a photo album of adoptable dogs on Thursday, January 13th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Gateway parking lot.

Camera Club Classes

Get ready to capture spring in all of its glory with an introduction to digital camera usage, starting Tuesday, February 1stat 2p.mp at Nicholes’ manor. New classes for Photoshop users may be added if there is enough interest.

Start Singing

If you are a female who has always wanted to sing, and are able to read music, then you are invited to join the Grace Notes, a women’s barbershop chorus on Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. in Multipurpose Room 1 at Gateway. For a co-ed option, consider the Rossmoor Community Chorus, who rehearses on Wednesdays from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Las Trampas Room at Hillside. All are welcome.

Crab Gala Fundraiser

The annual Crab Gala fundraiser, hosted by The Diablo Symphony Orchestra, will take place on Friday, January 21st at the Del Valle Clubhouse. Including music, crab and pasts, dessert, cocktails, and more, the event is an excellent way to pass an evening with friends and loved ones. Live and silent auctions will also take place.

Romantic Dinner Dance

No matter what your age, you can celebrate Valentine’s Day this year with your loved one at The Rossmoor Cotillion Dinner Dance on Friday, February 4that the Hillside Clubhouse. Starting at 6 p.m., the evening will feature hors d’oeuvres, a hosted bar, multi-course dinner, dessert, coffee and tea. During dinner there will be music for enjoying and dancing. Guest attendees are welcome.

Dixeland Jazz Club

Get a chance to hear the amazing jazz performer, Bob Schulz , play jazz the way it was meant to be played along with his Frisco Jazz Band on Wednesday, January 26that 7:30 p.m. in the Sierra Room at Del Valle. The evening includes drinks and snacks, and is open to both members and non members.
