From now until January 17th the residents of Walnut Creek can enjoy getting into the holiday spirit by skating at the outdoor ice rink located at Civic Park, California. Tuesday nights are a perfect time to get your whole family together and enjoy a family rate of $20 (except December 21st or 28th). Come anytime, and enjoy a great holiday activity. You can even stay for lunch or dinner, as local businesses are offering food for sale.
A drop-off and pick-up zone is located at Civic Drive and Broadway, and several local buildings are offering free parking:
- First Bank – 1700 Broadway
- First Republic Bank – 1400 Civic Drive
- Social Security Building – 1111 Civic Drive
- Fremont Bank – 1735 Broadway

Free Trolley Service through Downtown
Hate battling holiday traffic, and paying through the nose at parking garages? Then as homeowners in Walnut Creek you can enjoy free parking at one of the many downtown parking garages, as well as free Downtown Trolley Service.
The free Downtown Trolley runs until 10 p.m. from November 25th to December 11th, until 11 p.m. December 13th to 23rd, and until 10 p.m. December 27th to 31st. On Sundays the service ends at 7 p.m.
Residents of Walnut Creek can park at one of the many metered parking garages downtown, and then enjoy the sights and sounds of the holidays without having to fight with traffic or drive around in circles for a parking spot. When it’s time to get back to your car, simply hop on the Trolley at one of the many free pick-up spots.
